The laboratory suite for BioNIUM is a cutting-edge nanotechnology initiative at the University of Miami. The project involved designing and constructing state-of-the-art facilities to support the critical research conducted by interdisciplinary teams.
The laboratory suite encompasses various areas, including office spaces, general work areas, equipment support spaces, and specialized clean rooms. The clean room laboratories, such as the ISO-6 Processing Laboratory Clean Room and ISO-5 Lithograph Laboratory Clean Room, required a unique approach due to the critical nature of the research and the absence of building HVAC capacity. We successfully implemented an independent HVAC system to ensure optimal conditions for nanotechnology fabrication and experimentation.
BioNIUM serves as a catalyst for interdisciplinary nanotechnology collaboration across the university's departments and colleges. By providing advanced nanotechnology resources, including the specialized fabrication facility, BioNIUM now empowers scientists and researchers to push the boundaries of scientific exploration and innovation.
Our experience and expertise in laboratory design and construction allowed us to create a functional and efficient environment for BioNIUM. We’re proud to have contributed to advancing nanotechnology education, science, and engineering research at the University of Miami, shaping the future of this transformative field.
