Diller Scofidio and Renfro have revealed an exciting design for the new London Center for Music. The renderings capture the spontaneous spirit of the hand-drawn while also highlighting the dramatic and hyper-real capabilities of the computer. The translucent character of the renderings in present in the architecture as well, with glass openings tucked into the opaque, fluid forms of the primary spaces. The almost nonexistent skin of the project reveals an "inside-out" approach to design -- the internal spaces generate the exterior form and character.
