1st LEED Certified Historic Building in Florida
The St. Augustine Government House, located on King Street in St. Augustine, recently became the first LEED certified historic structure in the state of Florida. The Government House underwent a three-phase rehabilitation which provided modern utility infrastructure and improved energy efficiency, while preserving the historic structural and architectural elements.
Phase One of the project renovated 9,405 square feet of interior space on the first floor, converting existing spaces to museum exhibit areas and support spaces. This phase of the project achieved LEED Silver certification under the LEED for Commercial Interiors V3 rating system.
