This 12,264 square foot renovation, completed in August 2016, includes a complete HVAC replacement to convert the Ground Floor to 100% Outside Air, complete laboratory renovation with new casework and support spaces, addition of office and administrative spaces, and renovation of accessory spaces. The new lab layout is extremely flexible, open, and inviting. The plan is layered to allow varied collaborative and private spaces, while maximizing lab bench and equipment space.

The goal of this project was to create a distinctive facade for both the front and back of this commercial building in Gainesville’s new Innovation District. In the Innovation District, oversize numbering is used so that the address becomes each building’s identity. This new 10,987 square foot medical center, designed by Walker Architects and built by Oelrich Construction, includes offices, exam rooms, and conference space. The build-out for a Siemens YSIO x-ray machine is nearing completion. Load bearing walls consist of insulated concrete forms. The roof is constructed of pre-engineered wood trusses and standing seam metal. Exterior finish materials include stucco, brick, cast stone, and cast concrete.

Construction is complete on the new UF College of Veterinary Medicine Clinical Techniques and Skills Assessment Lab. The second floor Skills Lab and Pharmacy is one of the few simulation labs of its kind in the United States and will be available to students this fall. Oelrich Construction is now completing the third floor laboratory fit-out.
Walker Architects celebrated the grand opening of the Chi Institute Expansion on Thursday along with the students, faculty, and staff of the Chi Institute. The new 15,000 square foot building includes veterinary clinic space, a museum, a library, and an auditorium which seats 152.
Construction of the Florida Future Farmers of America Headquarters at the Federal Farm Bureau in Gainesville has been completed. Walker Architects designed the complete renovation of this existing building, formerly a day care center, for use by students from around the state. The project was constructed by D.E. Scorpio Corporation.

Walker Architects performed preliminary Master Planning Services to evaluate expansion opportunities for the current Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. Currently in the construction documents phase, the 15,180 gross square foot expansion will consist of site improvements and the construction of three free standing buildings on the current site. New spaces include: 3000 square foot classroom, multi-functional library and museum space, clinic and lab space for 100 students, and a courtyard.
